These women have come for a prenatal check up and to receive vitamins and food supplements. Every Tuesday a prenatal clinic is held in Baraderes for mothers at varying stages of pregnancy. At each session the mothers receive education on proper pre and post natal care, information on the importance of breast feeding as well as more general healthcare topics. On Thursdays postnatal clinics are held to assure babies receive vaccinations and are not malnourished. This comprehensive program has lead to a zero mortality rate among mothers, complete vaccination courses and a large decrease in malnutrition. Though Baraderes is an extremely isolated town, we have been able to assist in achieving these impressive results by partnering with this group of skilled and dedicated Sisters.
