History: For over 20 years, Hope for Haiti has chosen 1-2 projects a year to fund in addition to Hope for Haiti's on-going programs. These projects are one time funding commitments and are meant to build upon Hope for Haiti's mission to improve the quality of life for the Haitian people, particularly children, through education, nutrition, and healthcare. The majority of chosen projects are capital investments, primarily construction or renovation related. In the past, Special Projects have included; building an HIV education and medical outreach facility, constructing a special needs building for outpatient physical therapy and education, starting a bakery, renovating a nursing home, and building & renovating schools.
Since the earthquake on January 12, 2011, Hope for Haiti's special project has been our response to the Earthquake and our dedication to supporting Haiti's challenging road to recovery. Over the next three years, we have a long list of capital projects in desperate need of support. These projects include, but are not limited to, rebuilding and renovation of schools and healthcare facilities, building of homes, replacing destroyed vehicles and equipment, building back capacity to serve the increased needs of communities, and focusing on disaster preparedness. As this list continues to grow longer, we are dedicated to doing our very best with the resources we have to build Haiti back better than ever. ![]() |
